✉️ Migrating e-mail

I've been a user of Gmail since almost the beginning, I remember the "beta" in the logo and how a space of 1GB was a game changer.

Now is time to change, to go back to the classics, the old and reliable IMAP protocol.

I was already using this to have an email with my own domain, therefore, there is no real need for me to look for a different service or provider.

Now I use this with:

  • Mail app in my phone.
  • Thunderbird in my desktop.

🗓️ Contacts and Calendar

Since the IMAP server I'm using doesn't have CalDAV or CardDAV service to synchronize my contacts and calendar with my phone and Thunderbird. Now I use:

This is a free service that gives full CalDAV and CardDAV integration.

🪾 Git

Other service I was a early user is GitHub. In fact, while I'm writing this words, this site is hosted in GitHub Pages is now hosted in statichost.eu 😀

I found this alternatives to GitHub:

I'm now migrating to tangled. I like the de-centralized structure, but right now it doesn't have private repositories, so at this moment I'm only migrating my public repositories.

🌐 Static web hosting

For hosting this static site, now I'm using:

It has a good integration with any provider of Git, and it works well with tangled. In addition, in has already default setups to build Zola sites, so the integration was quite easy!

I need to implement a better integration, because right now, I have to manually trigger the build of the site.
